STUDIO ETIQUETTE

All Students and parents will be respectful at all times to the instructors, other students and parents. Profanity, negative attitudes and gossiping should not be brought into the studio. All students, parents and siblings are asked to clean up after themselves and respect all studio property. While classes are in session, please do not open the dance room door. It is very disruptive to the dancers and instructors. Our lobby is not a play area. Siblings of students in class are expected to sit quietly and must remain supervised. No rough housing or harsh play in the lobby will be allowed at any time. Anyone causing a distraction could be asked to leave.

We cannot be responsible for the care of students before or after class. We ask that you arrive promptly at the end of your child’s class. Students should arrive NO EARLIER than 10 minutes prior to the beginning of their class. We are extremely concerned with the safety of our students. If someone other than a parent is picking them up, please notify the instructor. If a situation arises and you are going to be late, please call the studio. Accounts will be assessed $5.00 for each half hour that a student is left. We also ask that parents come inside the studio to pick up your child. Dancers may not enter a classroom without an instructor present.

No food or drink is allowed in the studio area (with the exception of bottled water). PRECISION DANCE provides a drink/snack machine in the lobby area.

CLASS OBSERVATION: We cannot allow observers during scheduled classes. We do offer two observation days per year as well as video monitors in our lobby area, so that you can see your child’s progress. The instructors need your dancer’s complete attention. In order to respect the students’ privacy as well as allowing parents to more readily see their child’s progress, our video monitors will be available twice per month. Students need to feel safe in the classroom and not as if they are on display.

PRE-SCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN PARENTS – Please take your child to the restroom BEFORE class to avoid accidents and disruption of the class.

ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to be present and on time for all classes. It is extremely important that all dancers get the appropriate warm-up needed to avoid injury. Dancers are encouraged to make-up missed lessons although it is not a requirement. Speak with the instructor after a missed lesson for a make-up day and time. Once recital routines are started, attendance is very important. Students who miss consecutive weeks or choreography will be expected to arrange for private instruction.

PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS for DANCE CLASSES:
A 24 hour notice is required on all cancellations.

Fees are as follows:

1 student: $25/half hour….$50/hour

2 students: $45/half hour….$70/hour

STUDIO CLOSINGS/INCLEMENT WEATHER: The studio will be open for all in-service holidays by Maury County Schools. We will also observe the Maury County School schedule (closings) for Labor Day, Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break. If the schools are closed due to weather, please call the studio after 2:00 P.M. to verify if classes will go on as scheduled. You may also visit our website:  www.precisiondancetn.com for complete information.  Schedule changes may be necessary due to severe weather. Classes cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled at a later date.

SPRING RECITALS: Our spring performance will be held at the end of the session, sometime in June. A $40 costume deposit (per costume) will be due November 19th. Balances will be due January 28th. Costumes will not be ordered without a deposit. COSTUME DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Recital fees or ticket sales will be charged to cover the cost of auditorium rental and other recital expenses. Our end of the year recital allows each dancer a chance to display their accomplishments and experience performing on stage in front of an audience. It is not mandatory to participate but it is an invaluable and rewarding experience which we highly recommend. This is a wonderful opportunity for the dancer to build self-confidence and demonstrate their talents and abilities.

NEWSLETTERS: All newsletters or any other correspondence will be sent via email every two months to all families. PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN THAT WE HAVE THE APPROPRIATE EMAIL ADDRESS. Please let us know of any special honors your dancer receives. We love to include this in our newsletter!
